Unexpected Lullabies
In this sound installation, audience members sit in a rocking chair one at a time with headphones to listen to unexpected lullabies collected from mothers all over the world. The songs range from new ones we made up to old melodies, songs we never expected to sing to our children but just suddenly found they soothed them best, even very inappropriate songs that we sung in a lullaby voice in the middle of the night when we were desperate. This piece is ongoing, as I continue to add to the collection. Add your unexpected lullaby and contribute your voice to the project.
